- Choice of sheen (shininess)-
- Flat- lowest shine, hides imperfections well, not washable, most affordable.
- Eggshell- similar shine as flat, hides imperfections well, more washable than flat.
- Semi-Gloss (Satin-Gloss)- more shine than eggshell, shows more imperfections, more washable than eggshell.

- Don't skimp on the prep work, you'll regret it!
- Clean the entire area to be painted
- Patch any holes and repair with spackling
- Prime the area to be painted
- Paint and primer have completely different purposes, don't think that multiple coats of paint will compensate for not priming!
- Consider the lighting in the area to be painted-
- Natural light, fluorescent light, and incandescent lighting will affect the appearance of the color of your paint.
- When painting, always maintain a wet edge!
- No matter if you are rolling or brushing on your paint, if you allow the edge of the paint to dry, it will result in lap marks. Carefully plan your painting project so you can maintain a wet edge.
